Correction of Contour Irregularity After Liposuction
Liposuction is most popular and most common plastic surgery procedures in the United States and worldwide. Liposuction is perfect for removing unwanted body fat in certain areas and creating a great overall shape and silhouette of the body.
Contour irregularities or depression/skin irregularities are one of the most common complications after liposuction. Contour irregularities are bumps, lumps, or ripples in the liposuction treated area, which mar the look of final results after the procedure.
Prevention is Key
- As a surgeon, contour irregularities can be prevented by using smaller cannulaes and avoiding liposuction in areas where contour irregularities are more common, such as in Zones of Adherence.
- Traditional liposuction methods are also more prone to contour irregularities than the use of the VASER liposuction methods. One clinical study showed no contour irregularities with the use of the VASER liposuction machine in the hands of an experienced PLASTIC SURGEON.

Correction and Treatment of Contour Irregularities
- For patients in distress over their results due to contour irregularities, contour irregularities that resulted from a previous liposuction can be corrected.
- Contour irregularities can be corrected with the use of fat grafting. There's a possibility that multiple fat grafting may be needed to correct a contour irregularity.
